On November 24th, Iberia will move its flight operations from the terminal 2 to the terminal 5 at Stockholm Arlanda airport, which has been newly renovated. The Spanish airline will move into the new building at the same time as the other three oneworld alliance airlines flying to the Swedish capital – British Airways, Finnair and Malév Hungarian Airlines.
In the recently expanded terminal 5, Iberia will share the ticket office, check-in counters and self-service check-in kiosks with its oneworld partners. Iberia's Business passengers will have access to a bigger lounge with more services. They will also be able to use a fast track priority lane through security.
Iberia flies once a day between Stockholm and Madrid. From there passengers can fly on to another 37 Spanish destinations, 17 cities in Latin America, four destinations in the U.S., as well as 10 cities in Africa and the Middle East. Iberia operates those routes with Airbus A-320 and A-321 aircraft. In 2008, the airline carried about 100,000 passengers between Sweden and Spain. This year, the airline's offer in this market will surpass 120,000 seats.
Since last September, passengers flying with Iberia between the Swedish and the Spanish capitals can board aircraft using their cell phones to download boarding card information for their flights on both directions. Apart from Stockholm, Iberia flies once a day between Madrid and Copenhagen. It offers its customers the destinations of Helsinki and Oslo, under a code-share agreement with Finnair and British Airways, respectively.
