The Iberia Group Flies to 15 Summer Destinations

Destinos verano
  • For the first time, Iberia will fly to Tirana, Albania, on charter flights marketed by the World2Meet tour operator
  • Together with Iberia Express and Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum, it offers direct flights to Ponta Delgada and Faro in Portugal; Zagreb and Split in Croatia; Olbia, Catania, and Bari in Italy; Corfu, Crete, Mykonos, and Santorini in Greece, plus Edinburgh, Keflavik, and Bergen

This weekend marks the beginning of the operation of a large part of the Iberia Group’s summer routes: an offer of 15 destinations to satisfy the demand of holiday traffic to Europe.

In addition, these summer routes serve to take the pulse of the demand in those markets, as happened with Dubrovnik and, more recently, Funchal, which this winter became a year-round route.

Tirana, Iberia’s 136th Destination

Iberia adds a new destination, Tirana, Albania, to last year's summer offer, with charter flights marketed by World2Meet, the travel division of the Iberostar Group.

Iberia will offer flights every Tuesday from 20 June to 26 September.

This is still a little-known destination, which mixes a rich cultural heritage with impressive natural surroundings. World2Meet offers a range of vacation packages, all-inclusive stays at Meliá Hotels and stays including day trips.

Croatia

On 3 June the first flights to Zagreb, Croatia, will begin. In June, July and September, Iberia will offer three direct flights a week, which in August will increase to one daily flight.

Direct flights from Iberia to Split will begin on 18 June with three weekly frequencies, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays. In July two additional frequencies will be added, on Fridays and Saturdays. And in August there will be one daily flight.

Iberia also flies year-round to Dubrovnik; in June and July there will be one daily flight, up to two in August.

Portugal

Flights to Faro will also begin tomorrow, operated by Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum. They begin with two weekly frequencies, which will increase to five weekly in June and to one daily flight in August.

For the second consecutive year, Iberia offers flights to Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, from 3 July to 30 September; there will be three weekly frequencies in July and August, and two in September.

The Iberia Group offer in Portugal is completed with flights offered year-round to Lisbon (up to 36 weekly frequencies), Porto (up to 26 weekly frequencies) and Funchal (up to 7 weekly frequencies).

Italy

Italy is another of the star countries every summer. Flights to Catania begin tomorrow, with three weekly frequencies in June, six in July, and eight in August.

And on Sunday Iberia resumes direct flights to Olbia, in Sardinia, with one weekly frequency that will gradually increase to four weekly frequencies in August.

On 16 June, flights to Bari, in southern Italy, will resume with three weekly frequencies in June and September, and four weekly frequencies in July and August. These flights will be operated jointly by Iberia and Iberia Express aircraft.

Iberia's offer in Italy also includes other regular destinations: Rome, Venice, Milan, Florence, Bologna, Naples, and Turin.

Greece

Greek beaches are a summer must. Like every year, Iberia Express flies to Heraklion, in Crete, offering two weekly frequencies from mid-June to mid-September. To Mykonos, where it will offer five and six flights a week respectively in the central summer months. And to Santorini, with one weekly frequency this month, and four and five in July and August respectively. The three destinations begin with direct flights on 16 June.

And two days later, Iberia launches a third Greek destination, Corfu, where it will fly three times a week until 30 September.

Of course, Iberia continues to offer its flights to Athens in the summer, which increase to 15 weekly frequencies in June, 21 in July, and 26 weekly flights in August.

Edinburgh, Iceland, and Bergen

The Iberia Group also flies to summer destinations in Northern Europe. Iberia Express resumed, at the end of March, its flights to Keflavik, in Iceland. It offers two weekly frequencies, except from 19 June to 14 September, when there will be three weekly frequencies.

On 18 June, it will start its flights to Edinburgh, flying twice a week until 14 September.

For its part, Iberia will offer two weekly flights to Bergen, the Norwegian fjord capital, from 1 July to 2 September.
