Iberia Club has launched the Family Account, a new feature that allows members to combine their Avios with the people they choose and enjoy the benefits of the loyalty programme in a simpler and more collaborative way. From now on, any Iberia Club member can create or join a Family Account and pool their Avios into a single shared balance, designed so that families, couples or friends can share travel and experiences.
With the Family Account, up to seven people (one administrator and up to six members) can combine their Avios into one shared balance and earn Avios collectively, regardless of each member’s Iberia Club tier level. This makes it easier to reach the number of Avios required to redeem flights or experiences — such as hotels and car rentals — or cabin upgrades available through Iberia Club.
How to create and manage a Family Account
Any Iberia Club member of legal age can create a Family Account and become its administrator. From their profile, they can send invitations, remove members or close the account. The Family Account is activated once at least one invited member accepts the invitation.
To create a Family Account, simply log in to Iberia Club, access the Private Area and “My Iberia Club,” select “Family Account,” and click on “Create Family Account.” The administrator can invite up to six people who have an active Iberia Club or Iberia Kids account, regardless of their age or relationship.
Each member must remain in the Family Account for a minimum of 12 months. All members can view their individual transactions, as well as their personal balance and the shared balance. Avios earned by members are added to a single shared balance and, when a redemption is made, they are deducted proportionally from each member’s balance. Avios in the Family Account will not expire if at least one member holds Silver status or above. Otherwise, the standard Iberia Club expiry conditions will apply.
