In March 2017, Iberia and Mano a Mano opened the ‘Aula Iberia’ at the Maya Kaqchikel Beleje Noj Educational Centre in Guatemala. This school-based project, aimed at promoting job placement within the Los Tunayes community in San Martín, is the only secondary school within this rural region.
This new course of study, which began just last January, is attended by 38 young people. More new students are expected to be admitted, and they will participate in different training workshops.
Mano a Mano is financing this project with Iberia’s support. In 2018, Iberia’s NGO paid for the construction of toilet facilities, and will install an internet network in classrooms in 2019.
