In January 2025, Iberia and Iberia Express were the second most punctual airlines in the world in their respective rankings.
According to figures published by the international consultancy Cirium, 85.82% of Iberia’s flights were on time during the first month of 2025 and after the Christmas period, which shows the good performance achieved by the airline, at a very busy time. According to the data, the airline operated 14,079 flights.
With 87.49% of its flights arriving on time and 3,431 operations monitored by Cirium, Iberia Express was also the second most punctual among low-cost airlines. These figures reflect the high levels of efficiency and consistency that characterise the Iberia Group's low-cost carrier.
In the European ranking, three airlines from the IAG Group took the top spots in January: Iberia Express took first place; Vueling -also from the IAG Group- was third with 87.31% of operations on time; and Iberia was fourth.
These figures are very significant, as they follow a period of high air traffic, and, especially, after a year in which aviation around the world, but especially in Europe, had to deal with important challenges such as regulations in European airspace and saturation in some of the main airports on the continent.
