Iberia has presented the song “Volando”, the 3’50” song dedicated to the airline’s new Airbus A350 and all its employees. According to Juan Cierco, Chief Comms., Corporate Affairs and People Development Officer in Iberia, said: “the delivery of our A350 is a project thas has created a lot of excitement among Iberia employees and Volando pays tribute to all of them”.
“Volando” celebrates optimism, mixing the most diverse instruments and musical styles –guitar with flute and trumpets, and Afro-Brazilian batucada percussion with a plaintive Balkan chorus—in a multitude of scenarios but with the common denominators of shared happiness and contagious optimism. The performers taking part are from a variety of countries, most of them served by the Spanish airline, such as Spain, the USA including Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Israel, and Ecuador.
The composer of the song is musical producer Javier Limón: “When Iberia told me it was going to take delivery of its first A-350, I thought, hey, three minutes and fifty seconds is the perfect length for a pop song. And then, I thought, music, like airplanes, brings people together. And that’s what Volando is about, getting connected via a melody with lots of good vibrations”.
Gemma Juncá, Iberia’s Marketing and Brand Director, said, “launching Volando has been a wonderful project, enabling us to lend an emotional touch to the arrival of our first A350. This new aircraft is creating a lot of excitement in Iberia, and that’s what we wanted to convey with the video and song.”
“Volando” was first presented in June at the delivery ceremony of Iberia’s first A350 aircraft at Airbus factory in Toulouse. During the event, the Venezuelan singer Nella sang the song accompanied by Javier Limón, who played the guitar. Nella is the singer of the film “Everybody knows” soundtrack, which has recently been released.
