13,000 People Tested for COVID-19 under Iberia Deal with Quironprevención

While a growing number of countries require pre-travel negative Covid-19 PCR or antibodies tests, Iberia continues to come up with new ways to ensure that customers can travel safely and securely.

Under an agreement between the Spanish airline and the healthcare provider Quironprevención, more than 13,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered.

Iberia customers can request information, advice and make appointments for pre-travel tests by contacting the nearest Quironprevención centre in Spain, ringing 951 90 25 99, or accessing the Iberia web page: https://www.iberia.com/es/es/covid-19/test-pcr-quiron/ 

Customers can opt for:

 

  • Standard PCR test, (nasal swab or saliva sample) for 90 euros. Results within 24-48 hours.
  • Quick antibodies test, for 40 euros. Results within an hour.

With negative tests an official certificate valid for international travel is issued.  

 

Under its Comprehensive Safety and Hygiene Plan, Iberia has tested some 27,000 of its employees for the virus.

Different countries have different requisites for Covid-19 testing, and confusion persists amongst travellers. Iberia’s solution is the new travel planning aid on its website, //www.iberia.com/es/en/covid-19/fly-step-by-step/, to ensure a journey without risks or hitches.

The page will guide you through the process and lists the health requisites of all the countries served by Iberia, while also supplying information about where to get tested for COVID-19.

Collaborating in the design of the new page was the Spanish start-up Smartvel, a specialist in content management using AI. Previously it helped the airline to provide information about entertainment options at Iberia destinations, and it has now expanded its services to help plan travel in the age of COVID’19 with its tool for dealing with restrictions (https://www.smartvel.com/covid19-travel-restrictions/)

In a related development, Iberia now sends its customers a timely email message to inform them in detail of the restrictions and requisites in force in the country of destination.
