Iberia will increase the number of seats available this Christmas to make it easier for its customers to travel during this special time. In total, from 20 December to 7 January, the airline will operate 5,081 flights, which means there will be 1,126,000 seats available.
The new winter destinations, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Tromso, and Rovaniemi , together with the most iconic European capitals, London, Paris, and Rome, are the most popular destinations in the coming days, followed by Geneva, Zurich, and Prague, where aircraft size has been increased to meet the high demand at this time.
Snow and Santa Claus, the stars of Christmas
Snow destinations are a hit this year, with Salzburg and Innsbruck, in Austria, where Iberia offers direct flights twice a week since the beginning of December. And Tromso, In Norway, is the ideal destination for observing the Northern Lights, a city that also has two weekly frequencies, on Thursdays and Sundays.

But the most popular destination at this time of year is Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland and the Official Hometown of Santa Claus. To encourage travel to this magical place at this time of year, Iberia scheduled four weekly flights from Madrid, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
London, Paris, Rome, and New York: essential destinations
European capitals are always key destinations at this time of year: London, where Iberia offers 8 daily flights (and another 8 with British Airways), Paris, with up to 11 daily flights, and Rome with 6 daily flights. To this list we must add New York and Boston, the two preferred destinations in the United States to spend Christmas. Iberia operates three daily flights between Madrid and New York and one daily flight between Madrid and Boston. The latter route is operated with the recently incorporated Airbus A321XLR.

Iberia also celebrates Christmas on its flights, with special touches in the onboard service.
On intercontinental flights, Business passengers will enjoy a special menu until 31 December, consisting of capon supreme stuffed with red cabbage and dates in fig demi-glace. For dessert, a cake in the shape of a Christmas bauble, filled with raspberry, cherry and chocolate, will be served, along with nougat and marzipan. In Premium Economy and Economy, passengers will receive a special dessert on all flights departing from Madrid: a raspberry Christmas cake with candied fruit.
On 31 December, long-haul customers celebrating New Year's Eve will receive 12 Lucky Grapes and Cava to celebrate the start of the New Year.
On 6 January, to mark The Three Wise Men, Iberia will offer the traditional Roscón de Reyes with 228,000 Avios hidden inside, which will be distributed on long-haul flights taking off from Madrid that day. There will be a special prize of 100,000 Avios, a second prize of 50,000 Avios, and 78 prizes of 1,000 Avios.
On European flights, Business passengers will also be offered a special meal. For dessert, a cake in the shape of a Christmas bauble filled with raspberry, cherry and chocolate will be served on flights departing from Madrid, while on flights returning to Madrid they will be able to enjoy a homemade Christmas cake filled with white chocolate and cherry cream.
In addition, Business passengers on all flights departing from Madrid will receive a Christmas gift bag containing a bath soap made with natural products by “Uvas Frescas” on 24 December.
Christmas Gastrobar
In the Economy cabin of short and medium-haul flights, the Gastrobar service will include a Gingerbread Noel Cookie. This cookie combines ginger with a touch of almond nougat and a milk chocolate coating. It will be available from 20 December to 6 January.
Madrid's Premium Lounges are Dressed up for Christmas
Christmas is also coming to the Premium Lounges in Madrid, which have been specially decorated for this celebration with holiday motifs.
From 21 to 31 December, customers can enjoy a special Christmas menu that includes, among the main dishes, roast turkey with fig sauce, truffled celery mousse, red cabbage stuffing and roasted pumpkin. For dessert, there will be sponge cake, chocolate mousse and nougat mousse.
There will also be no shortage of traditional Christmas sweets: nougat, marzipan and other festive treats.
To keep up with tradition, on 31 December customers will be offered the traditional lucky grapes and cava to bid farewell to the year. On 6 January, Roscon de Reyes will be served.
In addition, from 21 December to 7 January, a barista will personalize customers' coffees with fun Christmas designs and on 19 and 20 December, they will receive a Christmas bauble with their name engraved as a gift.
Our youngest customers will also have their space in the Premium Lounge rooms and will be able to deposit their letters to the Three Wise Men in the magic mailboxes.
