The 11th edition of the PLATINO Awards once again celebrates, spreads, and brings together Ibero-American culture and cinematography. Next 20 April, the main players in the industry will meet at the Gran Tlachco in the Xcaret Park, in Riviera Maya. After three years of being held in Madrid, they return to what was their base in 2018 and 2019. This year, the presenters will be Esmeralda Pimentel and Májida Issa.
Iberia, Committed to Cinema
This recognition of talent has always had the support of Iberia. The airline has sponsored the PLATINO Awards since the second edition, and since then it has also collaborated with the Audience Award. The award has become the perfect prelude to the gala. In this category, viewers are in charge of choosing their favourite movies, series, actors and actresses.
Today - the day before the gala -, Gemma Juncá, Director of Marketing and Brand of Iberia, will announce and present the award on behalf of the airline. Based on the votes cast by the audience, the names of the winners will be announced in the following categories: best Ibero-American fiction film, best performance (male and female), and best actor and actress in a miniseries or television series.
Iberia's support for Ibero-American Cinema is part of its Talent on Board project, with which the airline seeks to support Spanish and Spanish-language talent in different fields, such as art, fashion, and sports. Talent on Board embodies Iberia's purpose of connecting people and cultures, generating prosperity.
