Iberia Opens "Iberia Playground" at Headquarters of its NGO Envera

•    Envera, founded by Iberia Staff in 1977, is a non-profit organization devoted to the integration of intellectually disabled people into society and the workplace.

•    Iberia has helped support Envera since its beginnings, and contracts the organisation tooperform a numbers of tasks, from laundry to document management.

In 1977 a number of Iberia employees with intellectually disabled children founded Envera with the aim of achieving their full integration into society and the workplace, while providing other forms of care as needed. 


On Friday, 12 March, Iberia's Executive Chairman Javier Sánchez-Prieto and the director of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, officially opened the "Iberia Playground "in the Early Care Centre at the organisation's main building in Madrid. Open to all group's youngest beneficiaries, the playground is decorated with colourful aircraft and clouds.


During his visit Sánchez-Prieto became the first guest to take part in a broadcast on Envera's new Radio Terrícola broadcasting station in the Occupational Area, and also visited other installations, including the training center, workshops, and residence. Envera serves some 2,500 intellectually disabled people every year.


The organization provides life-long support and care to those who need it, and thanks to Iberia and other client, gives stable, paid employment to 650 of its beneficiaries, while employing 150 staff.
