Martín Seneguis Buitis, Auxiliary Services Agent, has been working at Iberia since 2008. In this issue of the magazine, she recommends her favourite places to enjoy a few days in Milan.
THE BEST VIEWS: You can take a lift or climb the 256 steps to the roof of the Duomo – the Milan Cathedral – and stroll amid its spectacular Gothic structures or enjoy panoramic views of the entire city.
A STROLL: Take a walk through Sempione Park, the city’s largest, to the 14th-century Sforzesco Castle. The fortress is now home to interesting museums such as the Ancient Art, Egyptian Art and Musical Instruments museums.
A MUSEUM: The former palace, now the Pinacoteca di Brera, is home to one of Italy’s largest art collections, with authentic works of art by masters such as Rubens, Caravaggio and Raphael.
SHOPPING: Via Monte Napoleone is the city’s quintessential street for luxury boutiques, but there are also many vintage clothing shops between Brera and Borgonuovo with less expensive options.
IF YOU GO WITH THE FAMILY: Milan’s cultural offerings also extend to children. Its Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology allows kids over three to explore Italy’s first submarine.
DON’T MISS: Explore Milan’s canals, which Leonardo da Vinci himself helped to upgrade. Around them, the Navigli district is filled with options for enjoying the terraces and the best atmosphere.
