Spanish Royals begin visit to Fitur Tourism Fair at Iberia stand

Los Reyes inauguran Fitur
  • King Felipe and Queen Letizia were received by Luis Gallego, Iberia’s CEO and Chairman
  • Featured at the Iberia stand are the new Airbus A350, the company’s digital transformation, and the new Premium Economy seating class

Spain’s royal couple officially opened this year’s annual international travel and tourism trade fair, Fitur, in Madrid.

As in previous years, their first stop was at the Iberia stand, where they were greeted by Iberia’s CEO and Chairman Luis Gallego (at centre in the photo), and (from left to right) the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer Marco Sansavini, the Chief of Business Transformation Officer, Gabriel Perdiguero, and Marketing director, Gemma Juncá.

This year’s Iberia stand focuses on the company’s ongoing digital transformation, which encompasses such innovations as facial recognition, chatbots, and a new Iberia smartphone app.

Also featured are Iberia’s new Airbus A350/900s and Airbus A320s, and the new destinations it will serve in 2019, including Oslo, Bergen, Bari, Zadar, Châlons-Vatry and Verona.
