Iberia Adds Flights to Latin American
- Starting on July 1st, the Spanish carrier will offer additional frequencies to Bogotá, Lima, Mexico City, Montevideo, Quito and Rio de Janeiro
This summer Latin America is again the focus of Iberia.
Starting on July 1st, the Spanish airline is adding flights to Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay, for a total of 300 flights a week to Latin American cities, nearly all of them non-stop, from Madrid.
Many of the additional frequencies will be maintained after the summer, reflecting Iberia increasing dedication to the Latin American market.
- In Brazil, Iberia is moving from six flights a week to a daily service to Rio de Janeiro in July and August, along with its daily flights to São Paulo.
- In Colombia, as of July, Iberia is adding three weekly flights to Bogotá, for a total of 10, and this expanded service will be maintained in the winter season --starting on October 27th, the carrier’s new Airbus A350s will be used on the route. Iberia also flies three times a week to Medellin.
- Iberia’s service to Ecuador is also being expanded, with daily flights to Quito starting in July (one additional flight per week). On December 13th, the airline will launch its flights to Guayaquil with four frequencies every week, for a total of 11 flights a week to Ecuador.
- Iberia will operate three daily flights to Mexico City until September, making it the airline’s best-served Latin American destination.
- In Peru, Iberia is adding three weekly flights to Lima for a total of 10, and this additional service will continue all year long.
- And in Uruguay, Iberia will move from five flights a week to a daily service to Montevideo. This additional frequencies will be maintained in the winter season.
In addition, Iberia flies to Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean. In Central America, it serves Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, and El Salvador, offering connections to Honduras and Nicaragua. Further south, it flies three times a week to Venezuela, 10 times a week to Chile, and twice daily to Argentina.
This adds up to 19 Iberia destinations in 15 Latin American countries, and 300 flights per week from Madrid.
