700,000 People Now Use Iberia App
- To make flight reservations, download boarding passes, scan hand luggage, check flight status. and much more.
More than 50% of the population use their smart phones to connect to the Internet, while 26% use it to organise their agendas, and 25% to find information about travel, traffic, and directions, according to the Google Consumer Barometer.
Iberia is a part of this trend and has designed its smart phone app to handle most of its customers’ needs. More than 700,000 people have downloaded the app, which is now the channel for one-third of all information requests to the airline.
Customer journey
Customer journey is Iberia’s name for the digital process that begins with the ticket reservation and ends with the customer’s return home, a process that makes travel so much more efficient, comfortable, and sustainable.
Here’s what the customer can do with the Iberia app:
- Make flight reservations
- Purchase air tickets
- Scan credit cards to automatically supply the information needed to buy the tickets
- Choose seats at the moment of purchase
- Book additional luggage
- Book hotels, car rentals, and excursions at the destination
- Configure and customise you own travel guide
- Add travel details to your personal calendar
- Scan hand luggage to ensure it is the right size
- Download the paperless boarding pass
- Check flight status by route or flight number –departure and arrival times, boarding gate, baggage carousel number, etc.
- Free access to more than 7,000 digital publications to read during your flight via the PressReader function
- Ask any questions through the chatbot
- If the customer is a member of the Iberia Plus loyalty programme, the app may be used to:
- Check the number of Avios or Elite points needed to reach the next level, card benefits, points balance and movements, etc.
- Customers with i-phones can add Siri Shortcuts to check point balances or make new reservations
- View and modify user profile data, passwords, etc.
- Record travel document (passports, etc.) and credit card information to save time in filling out forms
- Add, modify, or eliminate frequent flyers
- Manage Iberia subscriptions
- Access Iberia Plus programme partners and contact telephone numbers
