Iberia Group 2019 Punctuality Second in Europe and Fifth in World; Iberia Express Again Europe’s Most Punctual Low-cost Carrier

According to the latest report by Cirium for FlightStats, in 2019 the Iberia Group was Europe’s second most punctual airline and fifth in the world in its category, while Iberia Express was Europe’s most punctual low-cost carrier and fourth in the world..

Cirium found that 84.24% of the Iberia Group’s 170,790 flights in 2019 were on time.

 

Meanwhile, it found that 87.05% of Iberia Express’ 38,249 flights were on time last year. 

 

The figures showed an improvement in punctuality by the Iberia Group in the year, rising from third place in Europe and sixth in the world in 2018. 

The group’s on-time performance was impacted negatively last March by works on one of the runaways at its Madrid airport hub in March. 

Despite this, constant improvements in procedures made it possible to continue to optimise on-time performance, a trend in the Spanish airline group over the past six years.
