For the third consecutive year, Iberia is an expositor at the international Madrid Design Festival, which encompasses all the realms of design, including architecture, interior decoration, and graphic art, and held at Madrid’s Conde Duque Cultural Centre.
Iberia’s exhibit, Espacio Aeroconsciente (“Air-conscious Space”] was created by Iberia with Hyper Studio, Joel Blanco and Elsa Yranzo, and is intended to show how the airline is endeavouring to offer increasingly sustainable flying experiences.
“Digital Intimacy”, the first of the exhibit’s three scenarios, is an invitation to reflect upon the digital environment. It uses three monitors and a facial recognition camera like that being deployed in a pilot project at Madrid Airport by Iberia along with Aena, IECISA, Gunnebo, and Thales, in which passengers are identified biometrically in order to board flights to Asturias and to Brussels.
The second scenario“ Zero Waste Pattern”, gives the visitor a 100% waste-free experience. It is based on the Life Zero Cabin Waste project, whereby Iberia is managing and reducing waste on its flights.
At the third scenario, “Habit of Lightness”, visitors can visualise how our senses can be altered at high altitudes, and also see the importance of reducing weight –including the weight of food-- to save fuel.
