Iberia has set a course to the heavenly Maldives, famed for natural beauty, turquoise waters and white beaches –and also safe from COVID.
From 2 July until 30 August, the Spanish airline will make two weekly flights to the islands’ capital, Malé, departing from Madrid on Mondays and Fridays, and returning on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Both outgoing and incoming flights are timed for easy connections in Madrid to other Iberia destinations in Spain and the rest of Europe.

Iberia will use Airbus A330/200s on the route, with capacity for a total of 288 passengers, 19 en Business and 269 in Economy.
In both categories Iberia is offering very attractive promotional fares: 639 euros return in Economy, and 2,499 euros return in Business.
“The Maldives route represents Iberia’s first Indian Ocean destination, which happens to be one of the safest from COVID-19,” noted Iberia's Sales Manager Maria Jesús López Solás. “Also, in recent years Iberia has segmented its offer to win customers with different budgets,” she added.
Through the website iberia.com or travel agents, customers can book holiday packages, including hotel, at very competitive prices. Since Iberia announced its new route, major tour operators have also designed packages and reserved blocks of seats on the new flights.
The package to be found on iberia.com includes 9 days/8 nights in a hotel, plus the flight and local transport, for just 1,099 euros. This represents a 25% discount on the normal hotel charge, and includes the possibility of changing dates without penalty.
