Destination: Munich, by Cristina Martín, purser on narrow body aircrafts

Cristina Martín Sánchez has been a chief purser on the narrow-body aircraft that fly domestic and European routes since 2019, although she began working at Iberia in 2016. Munich in Germany is one of her favourite destinations.

• The best views: Gaze out from Fernsehturm (Munich’s TV tower) and from Alter Peter (St Peter’s Church), the city’s oldest building, which is located very close to Marienplatz City Hall Square.

• A stroll: Walk or take a bike ride in  Englischer Garten (English Garden). It’s home to Chinesischer Turm, the famous Chinese tower, and to Eisbachwelle, the artificial wave that brings together surfers from across the world. I also recommend the gardens of Nymphenburg Palace and Olympiapark, the park built for the 1972 Games. Another very pleasant option is a stroll through the centre from Odeonsplatz once the entrance to Munich – to the Viktualienmarkt beer garden.

• A museum: Pinakothek der Moderne, in the centre, is the most spectacular museum. The city’s most important museums cost €1 on Sundays. The Dachau concentration camp and its museum, 30 minutes from the city, are very interesting.

• Shopping: Kaufinger Street has the most shops, and they’re of all types.

• If you go with family: Visit the BMW Car Museum, the Deutsches Museum (the world’s largest museum of science and technology), and the Therme Erding thermal springs.

• Don't miss: The beer party Oktoberfest, and the Tollwood Festival in summer and winter – an alternative festival with organic food stands and live music.
