  • They will join the Iberia network from November 2024.
  • The flights to Rovaniemi will return this year, from November to March.
  • Flights are on sale starting today on iberia.com, from €119 each way.

Iberia will debut two new destinations next winter season: Tromsø, in Norway, and Salzburg, in Austria. Two dream destinations, ideal for enjoying the Northern Lights, skiing, and Christmas markets.

On November 30th, direct flights to Salzburg will begin with two weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which will continue until 29 March.

And one day later, on December 1st, Iberia will start flying to Tromsø, also with two weekly frequencies -on Thursdays and Sundays-, until March 2nd.

In the three months of operation, Iberia will put on sale a total of 12,600 seats to Salzburg and 9,000 to Tromsø.

Tromsø: Charm, Snow, and the Northern Lights

Tromsø is a unique place in Norway, made up of a mainland and several islands. This Scandinavian city offers a wide range of entertainment, from appreciating the majesty of the Northern Lights and enjoying the snow, to excursions to the Norwegian fjords and sleigh rides. Its cosiness and unusual streets make it the ideal place to travel for couples, families, and groups of friends.

Endless Options in Salzburg

For those who prefer Christmas markets and skiing, Salzburg is the ideal destination. And not only that, but the excellent location of this Austrian region also makes it possible to visit incredible nearby places. Hallstatt, the town considered “the pearl of the Salzburg region”, is located a few kilometres from the city. And, due to its border position with Germany, visiting the Bavarian Alps is another option for travellers who fly to Salzburg.

This Year, More Rovaniemi

From the end of November, it will be possible to return to Santa's home, with the reopening of the route to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland and the official hometown of Santa Claus.

This route was very successful in 2023, so the airline will extend the months of operation and number of frequencies. Thus, this year the flights will begin on 30 November and end on 1 March - one month more than in 2023 – and in December there will be four frequencies a week on offer, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

In total, Iberia will offer close to 12,200 seats, a 74% increase compared to last year.

Santa Claus will once again eagerly welcome all families who travel from Madrid to visit the most magical place in the world at Christmas. Visitors can stroll through Santa's Village and explore its shops, restaurants, and cafes, as well as enjoy dog and reindeer sleigh rides, snowmobile excursions and visits to ice constructions.

Tickets for these three destinations are now on sale on iberia.com starting at €119 each way to Salzburg and from €199 each way, when buying a round trip, to Rovaniemi and Tromsø.
