Today's Iberia flight to Paris was truly magical. The passengers on flight IB3402, which departed at 07:25 to Orly, had no idea of what was going to happen on board to commemorate a double anniversary: the 32 years since the inauguration of Disneyland Paris and the 75 years since the beginning of the flights between Madrid and Paris.

“Good morning, this is the commander speaking. I want to welcome you to this Iberia flight to Paris. As you may have noticed, this is a special flight: today we celebrate 75 years of the first flight between Madrid and Paris, which coincides with the 32nd anniversary of Disneyland Paris. We want you to be part of this magical day and that is why we have left a gift on your seats so that you can remember this trip forever. In addition, during the flight you will also receive a surprise that we are certain will be unforgettable for everyone. Thank you very much and enjoy the flight.”

After boarding, passengers found in each seat a gift that had just arrived from the Magical Kingdom, including, among other things, a stuffed animal, and the most famous set of mouse ears in the Park. A small preview of what awaited them when they reached 30,000 feet of altitude, when, to the rhythm of the famous song from The Little Mermaid “Part of His World”, they received a double ticket to visit this key European tourist destination.

On the occasion of the 32nd Anniversary of Disneyland Paris, among the passengers were also 32 children from the Juegaterapia Foundation along with their families. The Walt Disney Company and Iberia have been collaborating with this foundation for several years as part of their commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and they wanted to invite the children to spend an unforgettable day at the Park.

32nd Anniversary of Disneyland Paris…

On 12 April 1992, Disneyland Paris opened its doors for the first time to the thousands of visitors who flocked to the first Disney Park in Europe. It was the beginning of an extraordinary adventure long awaited by Europeans.

Since then, more than 375 million people have visited this key European tourist destination. There have been 32 years of unforgettable stories, 32 years of hope, 32 years of innovation, 32 years in which millions of dreams, young and old, have come true.

These 32 years have been marked by great events, such as the opening of iconic attractions and the inauguration of a second Park, Walt Disney Studios, in 2002. And more than 384 months full of magical shows and parades.

And there’s more! The 32nd anniversary of Disneyland Paris brings many new features that will leave everyone who decides to visit the Park speechless. Disneyland has been offering its Symphony of Colours programming since last February, with shows such as an incredible drone parade before the Disney Dreams nighttime show, a new daytime show that celebrates several of the famous Disney Animation and Pixar stories and a completely renovated decor full of colour, twinkling lights and floral touches that will leave no one indifferent.

…and 75 Years Since the Start of Flights between Madrid and Paris

This year Iberia celebrates the 75th anniversary of its direct flights to Paris. On 1 July 1949, a DC4, the plane that became a symbol of the advancement of aeronautical technology of its time, took off from Madrid with 44 passengers on board heading to the French capital. It was the fifth regular line between Spain and Europe, following Lisbon, London, Rome, and Geneva.

Today, Iberia offers up to ten direct flights a day to France, with seven daily flights to Orly airport and three flights a day to Charles de Gaulle airport.

The schedules cover the entire day, so that travellers can choose the option that best suits their needs. There are flights from 7:30 in the morning until 10 at night.

For the little ones, and their parents, traveling by plane is quite an adventure. Iberia offers facilities to make it a positive experience from the first moment they arrive at the airport.

At Terminal 4 of the Madrid airport, families have special counters to expedite all procedures, strollers can either be checked in - the check-in staff offers customers a bag so that they are better protected - or taken with them to the plane door. There, the operators take it down to the hold of the plane and take it back up when they arrive.

Once check-in is completed, families have an exclusive security filter for families in Terminal 4, which is larger than usual.

When it comes to boarding, families are the first in line, so they can find their seats and store their belongings easily.

And once on board, the crew provides a special belt for babies who travel without occupying a seat and explains to parents how to put it on.

At iberia.com it is possible to purchase the complete package to travel to the magic of Disneyland, with a round trip flight + Disney hotel + tickets to Disneyland Paris, a cheaper option than booking separately.

With Iberia and Disneyland Paris, magic awaits you.
