Since 2001, when Iberia began to work with Make A Wish to fulfil the dreams of seriously ill children, more than 300 dreams have come true. Many families have been able to provide their children with an unforgettable experience, with moving examples of resilience, but on 21 July something new happened: three dreams at the same time! Three families were on the same flight to Paris, a flight loaded with the excitement of Almudena, Daniel, and Daniella.
Almudena has wanted to visit Disneyland since she was very little. Daniel, aged 5, is Spiderman's biggest fan, and he wanted to meet him in person. Daniella, also 5, was very happy because she was going to meet her friends the princesses. At the Madrid airport, our colleagues from Passenger Services were waiting for them at counter no. 790 to check them in and accompany them until boarding time.
The three families were about to fulfil the dream they had been looking forward to for so long, and their joy was contagious. Once on the plane, the crew was waiting for them, and they made sure at all times that the flight of these children and their families was unforgettable.
Almudena, Daniel, and Daniella are back home now, and they have told us that they felt immensely cared for and pampered during the whole trip.
“It has been incredible. I have no words to thank you for what you have done for us. It has been the first time in two years and four months that I was able to forget about my daughter's cancer. THANK YOU"
“Seeing Dani excited and smiling every second has been unforgettable. Alba was the same: they were both happy and super excited. They completely forgot about isolation, medicines, injections and hospitals. Feeling their happiness and seeing our little ones like this has given us that energy boost that we needed to continue the battle.”
“All the people involved in this magical project have treated us with exquisite attention, with wonderful affection and care. On the return flight, the captain had the courtesy to greet us personally at the end of the flight and to take a picture with us and the rest of his crew. I don’t have the words to express my gratitude. Your priceless care has left an indelible mark on us. THANK YOU."
