Espacio Iberia opening event

Inauguración Espacio Iberia

Marco Sansavini, Iberia´s CEO, has shown Jordi Hereu, Minister of Industry and Tourism of the Government of Spain, the new popup store that has just opened on Madrid's Gran Vía.

Almudena Maíllo, Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Madrid City Council, and numerous businessmen, customers, and the media attended the inauguration.

"Our goal with this initiative is to bring to the ground the experience that can be enjoyed on a flight with our company," said Sansavini. "Those who visit us can sit in the state-of-the-art seats in our three cabins; travel back in time in period attire; taste our onboard menus and the wines and beers we serve on board; and even get behind the controls of an aircraft in the flight simulator," added the Iberia CEO.

Sansavini stated that the challenges ahead for Iberia are not few: "to consolidate these results -which are what allow us to invest in our people, our customers and in environmental and social sustainability-; to continue working to bring our Madrid hub up to the level of the main hubs in northern Europe; and to develop the handling business, where we have created a new company, and the maintenance business."

Jordi Hereu, Minister of Industry and Tourism of the Government of Spain, highlighted the "fundamental" contribution of tourism to the economy and the good employment data.
