Iberia and Iberia Express, Once Again on the Punctuality Podium

  • In May, Iberia was the second most punctual airline in Europe and fourth in the world, with 89.53% of flights arriving on time.
  • And Iberia Express, the world’s most punctual low-cost airline, was on time on 90.24% of its flights.

Iberia was the second most punctual network airline in Europe and fourth in the world in May. Last month, the airline operated a total of 15,873 flights with an average punctuality rate of 89.53%.

Iberia Express, the Most Punctual Low-Cost Airline in the World

In May, Iberia Express, the leading low-cost airline operating from Madrid airport, was the world’s most punctual low-cost airline. Last month, it operated a total of 3,835 flights – 11% more than in May 2023 - with an arrival punctuality of 90.24%.

“It is very gratifying for the entire team to make improvements month after month, and to be able to offer our customers the highest punctuality rates. We are proud to have reached the top spot in the world’s punctuality podium once again. This achievement is the result of the effort and perseverance of all of us at Iberia Express,” said Fernando Ortiz, the airline's Production Director.

Likewise, last year Iberia Express was the most punctual airline in Europe. For the first time, the Iberia Group low-cost airline managed to enter this ranking, thanks to its growing flight volume. Iberia Express took first place on this podium with an arrival punctuality rate of 84.58%, and was also the fifth most punctual low-cost airline in the world, according to Cirium's On-time Performance Report, the industry’s key annual report on punctuality.
