Iberia Unveils a 16m Canvas in the Plaza Pedro Zerolo to Celebrate LGTBIQ+ Pride

• The airline has installed a huge 16m canvas in the Plaza Pedro Zerolo, the epicentre of the Pride celebrations, with the motto “#FlyWithPride We connect people and celebrate diversity.”

• Special events will be held on board the planes, where a Pride Cookie designed especially for these dates will be on sale, while the iconic Las Meninas salt and pepper shaker offered in Business class will be dressed in the colours of pride.

• In the Premium Lounges of Madrid, customers will be offered a special cookie along with a Lavazza coffee with rainbow-colored foam and a cocktail specially created for this celebration.
• The inside of the “We are one and diverse” plane will be customised with the logo that celebrates LGTBIQ+ diversity.

• The airline launched a gift card with a 10% discount valid to use and fly for one year on Iberia Group flights.

• The avatar on social networks has also been changed, with a design that is aesthetically and conceptually influenced by the geometric figures of the Bauhaus School.

Iberia joins the Pride celebration this year with a series of actions around LGTBIQ+ diversity that will take place on board its planes, in the Premium Lounges of Barajas and on its website and social networks.

The start of these actions took place this weekend with the installation of a large tarp more than 16 meters high in the Plaza Pedro Zerolo, located in the Chueca neighbourhood and the epicentre of the Pride celebration. With the motto #FlyWithPride We connect people to celebrate diversity”, Iberia joins in the LGTBIQ+ community events and shows its commitment to diversity.

Pride Cookie

Customers traveling during these days on board Iberia aircraft will be able to purchase a Pride cookie from the Gastrobar's product menu. It is a limited edition in the shape of a heart with the colours of the rainbow flag, baked every day by Do&Co, Iberia's catering service. The cookie is presented in a box inscribed with the message “without judging, life is sweeter”.

In addition, in Business Class on all short-, medium- and long-haul flights, the iconic Meninas-shaped salt and pepper shakers offered in the meal service have also been dressed in the Pride colours.

Special Events in the Premium Lounge

In the Premium Iberia lounges at Madrid airport customers will be able to enjoy a special cookie with the colours of the pride flag, which can be found next to the coffee machines. These cookies will be available from 28 June to 7 July, when a barista will also be in charge of serving Lavazza coffee with rainbow-colored foam. A special pride cocktail will also be available.

We Are One and Diverse

Additionally, Iberia will customise the interior of its A320 NEO bearing the name “We are One and Diverse” with special headers that will be on display from 23 June to 4 July.

This plane is named after Iberia's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan and is one of the initiatives of the airline's programme to raise awareness and give visibility to the LGTBIQ+ community, as well as to gender and cultural diversity and people with disabilities.

Inflight Entertainment

The in-flight entertainment system available on all Iberia long-haul flights offers a special cinema category with films representative of LGTBI+ Pride such as All of Us Strangers, Call Me by Your Name, The Danish Girl, and Strange Way of Life.

Pride Card

Iberia customers also have the opportunity to book their summer holidays with up to 10% discount by purchasing the Pride giftcard, valid for travel for one year on any flight operated by the Iberia Group - Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum-.

On 1 June, Iberia changed its image on social networks, creating an exclusive visual identity for Pride 2024, aesthetically and conceptually influenced by the geometric figures of the Bauhaus, as both movements share the celebration of diversity and freedom of expression.
